Lightning Round of Recent Updates

Hang on to your seats! We review all the latest updates you need to know about wages, unionizing workforces, and new EEOC guidance.  Then let’s talk about supervising your workforce as we face an election year packed with important issues and strong feelings.

Complying with the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act

Kristy Ball presents a deeper dive into the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (“PWFA”) and the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act (“PUMP Act”). Both were recently signed into law, expanding federal protections for both pregnant and nursing workers. This discussion will provide a primer on certain employers’ obligations under the new statutory requirements and provide suggestions for updating reasonable accommodation and employee break policies.

Accommodating Religious Beliefs Today

The United States Supreme Court has altered the balancing act for accommodating religious beliefs – again! This discussion will address the impact of this change and how to manage it in your workplace. We will further cover practical strategies to determine appropriate accommodations and how to bring your policies into compliance with 2023 changes.

Question and Answer Session

We will answer questions from the audience as well as those submitted in advance.  Please email questions to [email protected]
