FMLA 20 Years Later

By /

It has been 20 years since the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was enacted. The Department of Labor has released the findings of a survey it conducted entitled Family and Medical Leave Act in 2012: Final Report. According to the news release, “FMLA continues to make a positive impact on the lives of workers without imposing an undue burden upon employers and employers and employees alike find it relatively easy to comply with the law.” Some Washington employers might have a slight disagreement with the “relatively easy” comment, especially when dealing with thornier issues like Intermittent Leave.

The attorneys at Helsell Fetterman continue to keep a close eye on these developments in order to provide the best informed advice.
