The Deep Blue
By Amber Donaldson
In celebration of Black History Month, Helsell Fetterman commissioned Amber Donaldson (AKA Sunshine) to create an art piece, which she titled The Deep Blue. Ms. Donaldson is a local black artist who also works for the Seattle School District mentoring youth. She started her art business in 2020. Since then, she has created murals around Seattle at locations such as Pike Place Market, Honey Hole Sandwiches and Black Coffee. Her art piece, The Deep Blue, will be raffled off during an internal virtual firm event. We invite you to view more of her artwork on Instagram.
When asked what the The Deep Blue represents to her, Ms. Donaldson said,
“to me, this painting is one of many representations of how beautiful and versatile black women are. How, we embody a natural beauty with a sense of strength.”
