Insurance Coverage Associate (see link for full details)
Helsell Fetterman seeks a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Coverage attorney with 3 to 7 years’ experience to support matters in the firm’s insurance coverage practice group.
This position will focus on representing insurance carriers in complex insurance coverage matters; preparing coverage opinions; and defending against bad faith claims. An ideal candidate will be a self-starter who looks to take a strategic and leadership role in the matters they support. The soft skills of client and interpersonal relationships are just as important as the hard skills of drafting, writing and research. Working side by side with partners, the candidate will receive practical, real mentorship as they provide quality and effective representation to the firm’s clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze insurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions for insurer clients.
- Represent insurers in coverage litigation, including declaratory judgement actions and contributions disputes.
- Defend insurers against bad faith, extra-contractual liability, and breach of contract claims.
- Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions and discovery requests.
- Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and represent clients in mediations and court hearings.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and legal guidance
- Manage multiple files independently and work closely with team members including partners, associates and staff
Washington State Bar membership is a requirement.
Salary: $136,000 – $180,000 per year
