Professional Experience

Makenzie’s practice focuses primarily on real estate and land use litigation. Prior to joining Helsell Fetterman, Makenzie worked on corporate and real estate matters in Bend, Oregon, where she gained significant experience working with real estate developers, community colleges, property managers, irrigation districts, and various other corporate and individual clients. Her experience ranges from drafting and arguing dispositive motions in federal court, to conducting hearings under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA).

In addition to her litigation work, Makenzie has considerable experience working with transactional business and real estate clients on purchase and sale agreements, commercial and residential leases, licensing agreements, and more. Makenzie aims to help her clients by taking a holistic approach to legal issues and exercising a high level of attention to detail to ensure that no need goes unmet. Makenzie prides herself on her ability to craft creative, practical, and effective solutions that keep her client’s affairs running smoothly.

Having grown up in Oregon and obtaining her Bachelor and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Oregon, Makenzie is a proud Pacific Northwesterner. Makenzie is also passionate about education and worked as an assistant teacher for undergraduate law classes throughout law school. When she’s not working, she is an avid sports fan, scuba diver, and traveler.
