Helsell Fetterman Welcomes David Tran


David Tran has joined Helsell Fetterman after completing his two-year clerkship at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II.  David will be working in the firm’s business, real estate, and commercial litigation practice groups.

David graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Architectural Studies. He then earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2015, graduating Magna Cum Laude. At Seattle University School of Law, David served as an editor for the Seattle University Law Review, as an extern for the Honorable Justice Mary Yu of the Washington State Supreme Court, as the President of the Asian Pacific Islander Law Student Association, and as the law school’s representative to the Asian Bar Association of Washington.  During his last year of law school, David received the school’s Pro Bono Pledge Outstanding Service Award and the Asian Bar Association of Washington’s Yamashita Scholarship.

Before clerking for the Honorable Judge Linda Lee of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division II, David was a law clerk at Ling & Liang and a compliance specialist at A Place for Mom, Inc.  At the Court of Appeals, David drafted over 50 opinions deciding various matters for the appellate court.

David also volunteers his time as a basketball coach for the Seattle Asian Sports Club and as a competition judge for Washington DECA.
