PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Brad handles a wide variety of commercial, employment and other litigation in the state and federal trial and appellate courts.  In recent years he has represented plaintiffs in a number of class actions and other complex matters in the maritime industry, as well as major cases of public interest in the Pacific Northwest.  He was lead trial court counsel for eight couples in Andersen v. King County, in which he argued that Washington’s ban on marriage between same-sex couples was unconstitutional, and he represented numerous Seattle-area political and civic leaders in their challenge to Sound Transit’s controversial $2.4 billion light-rail project.  He has obtained judgments or settlements for his clients exceeding $1 million in six maritime cases.  He has litigated property, trade and other commercial disputes, will contests, aviation accidents and other claims.  For six years in the 1990’s he was the firm’s managing partner. 

COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT
Mr. Bagshaw donates legal services to King County’s volunteer legal clinics .He has donated flight time to Angel Flight, an organization that provides free medical air transport to those in need and he has given hundreds of hours to representing same-sex couples seeking the right to marry.

EDUCATION
Brad graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1981.  He was awarded his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Bowdoin College, where he majored in physics and mathematics.  He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa

PERSONAL
Brad is a sailor, a commercial pilot and a certified flight instructor.  He is happily married to Sally Bagshaw, Chief Civil Deputy of the King County Prosecuting Attorneys Office, who is also a flight instructor and sailor.

SABBATICAL
Brad will be on sabbatical from August 1, 2007 to Spring of 2009.
