New Form of For-Profit Corporation: the Social Purpose Corporation
On June 7, 2012, Washington State started recognizing a new form of for-profit corporation, “the social purpose corporation,” to address the increasing desire of corporations to build social values into their corporate identities. Only a handful of other states currently authorize the formation of this type of entity.
